if Bill Hicks had lived longer he might’ve been more amazing than geroge carlin

aaron moritz, December 30th 2009i’ll admit I’m a huge nerd and this is one of my favorite shows ever because it’s dark and depressing and moving and well written and all that good stuff. the whole premise obviously bothers me with machines rebelling against their master and all that when i can’t wait for us to get intelligent machines together, but that’s fine it’s sci fi. but the ending of the series (and i realize i’m a year late to be commenting on this) was an even bigger bummer than the shows premise. they decide to give up all their technology and start over on a new planet as like hunter gatherers or some shit. they just give up. we can’t learn to trust ourselves with this technology. there’s no chance of humans evolving and learning to grow as a species. no we just have to start over and it’ll only end with us fucking everything up again just like this time. no learning from the past. what a shitty fucking ending.

A little bill maher for everyone, on greed and the evils of our monetary system, never really gets old. The movie he references in the beginning wall street 2, is a joke (edit: was wrong about that), but wall street is a great movie and fun for the whole family. this is a short clip from that movie, stolen shamelessly from a zeitgeist podcast.

“I create nothing. I own.” Powerful statement about what the most powerful people in our society are contributing. Nothing.
