“It may be thought that we have left out a basic field of analysis – the critique of technology as a prime mover of the globe’s palpable degenerations of live diversity and the life-ground…. [however], the money-sequence program behind the pervasive advances of machine technology is never uncovered. The value logic of ‘development’, ‘investment’, and ‘profit’ in whic technology is always the means, is not itself examined… The regulating principles governing the private and state corporate bodies who plan, produce, implement, and distribute machine technology of every kind are left unexamined. What we are seeing here is a classic case of blaming a tool for what it is being used for.”
paranoiac?
aaron moritz, July 26th 2010So while I was writing the script for Government: Earth I think the left side of my brain started to hurt from overuse and I ended up recording this, and kinda worked on them both at the same time.
Government: Earth
aaron moritz, July 24th 2010my latest video offering (another coming real soon… if this was me exercising my left brain, my next video is the right):
oh the irony…
aaron moritz, July 19th 2010That snapshot taken an hour after I posted this tweet:

Strangely does not include any tweets that didn’t occur between 4 and 5 hours ago (except mine, in tiny writing, which only appears because it’s MY tweet, not as a search result). Nor does it include any tweets posted by people who had anything intelligent to say, or didn’t have 420 in their name…
And they say they “can’t bring up any older tweets”, but mine is not old. It’s new. Just strange.
Could be a coincidence, Twitter’s servers are constantly going down all over the place. It’s really unreliable sometimes, but this seems strange to me. Anyways, could be a lot of things (tech glitch, maybe nobody is using that hash tag… whatever), just thought it was interesting, and as my post title says, ironic.
society needs a ReMix [HQ]
aaron moritz, July 4th 2010i figured out how to upload the high quality version:
a remixer’s manifesto:
1. culture always builds on the past.
2. the past always tried to control the future.
3. our future is becoming less free
4. to build free societies, we need to limit the control of the past.

fuck youtube. (mia’s born free)
aaron moritz, June 19th 2010remember a few months ago i was saying how much i love youtube and then i started my own channel, well fuck them. i’m trying to re-upload my video ‘criminal reality’ to fix some audio and interlacing issues, and now it’s being held by fox because of the Simpsons clip at the start. even though the original video is still live. it’s the exact same video, but one is ok, and one isn’t? they said it’ll take ten to fourteen days to settle when I filed a counter-notice claiming fair use.
fuck them and their bowing to the corporatocracy,
they also removed all copies of mia’s video “born free”, because it contains graphic depictions of the truth. luckily, on the internet, once youtube has fully descended into corporate whoredom, there will always be a replacement waiting. so here’s mia’s video, on vimeo.
information cannot be stopped.
M.I.A, Born Free from ROMAIN-GAVRAS on Vimeo.
and yeah, I’m gonna keep using their service to upload my videos, because it’s convenient and useful, and I’m comfortable only in the fact that I am using what they offer against them.

keeping my ear to the mainstream media
aaron moritz, April 28th 2010I’ll admit this is kind of a lazy post but I could’ve posted nothing…
I went on google news today, and these were the top three business stories. Let the fucking headlines speak for themselves. Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about problem solving. Why are we content just to bicker and throw together half-assed solutions?
